Scott Fournier LCMHC is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in private practice at Cairn Counseling Center located in St. Johnsbury, Vermont since 2016.
He is a native of the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont and a graduate of St. Johnsbury Academy.
He attained his Mental Health Counseling degree from Springfield College with a focus on mindfulness techniques and trauma counseling.
Prior to opening his practice, Scott spent over 25years in the field of mental health services at Cornerstone School, Northeast Kingdom Human Services, Lyndon Town School and Burke Town school, specializing in trauma work with children in schools, development of autism spectrum lifeskill programs and Community Based Case Management.
Scott assisted in development and launching of community based "Grandparent Groups" that supported grandparents raising their grandchildren.
Scott uses mindfulness as a powerful tool with his clients, guiding them to cultivate presence and awareness in their daily lives.
By incorporating mindfulness techniques, he helps them navigate challenges with clarity and focus, enhancing their productivity and decision-making. This approach not only fosters emotional resilience and inner peace but also empowers his clients to achieve a more balanced and fulfilling life.
Scott recently attained advanced training and certification as a Certified Grief Informed Professional and a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional to offer advanced counseling support in the areas of grief and trauma.
